Known as the location for the U.S. Masters professional golf tournament, the Augusta National Golf Club is one of the most recognized golf clubs in the world.  This beautiful private course, located in Augusta, GA, opened for play in 1933 and has been the site of the major golf competition every year since 1934. The club recently announced plans to expand the course by lengthening the par-4 5th hole, with the redesign beginning in May after this year’s Masters.

Parking At August National Golf Club:

Parking for the Masters is free on a first come, first serve basis. As the lots fill up, the gates will close, so be sure to have an alternative parking location in case parking runs out. We suggest looking at sites along Washington Road, and bring cash since most of these lots require payment and are cash only. Public tickets are limited to three entries per day.

We suggest you leave a bit before the game ends to get ahead of traffic. Berckmans Road will be one-way between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. during Masters Week. In addition, the traffic between Cherry Lane and Ingleside Drive will be one way and could cause up to half hour delay. Those exiting the lots from Health Drive should stay in the south lane and turn onto Ingleside Drive. Those on Washington Road will merge onto the north street at Cherry Lane and remain until they pass Ingleside Drive, where the road will merge back into the south lane toward Wheeler Road.

If you’re walking, note that Washington Road is a busy street to cross on foot. Azalea Drive has no pedestrian sidewalk so make sure you plan accordingly.

Tips on Security

The Augusta National Golf Club requires that visitors go through metal detectors and have their bags hand searched.

Augusta National Golf Club Food & Concessions

According to visitors, the club offers a wide selection of merchandise with various styles, colors and prices. You can buy something for $100 or $15. If you plan on taking home a souvenir, we recommend you wait to buy something before you leave so you won’t have to carry it around. Stores feature several cashiers with little to no wait in lines.

There are many concessions stands featuring reasonably priced food. Make sure you buy the club’s most popular food item, the pimento cheese sandwich made from a secret recipe for only $1.50. Other menu items include egg salad ($1.50) and a BBQ pork sandwich ($3). There are also beverages such as sweet tea ($1.50) and beer ($4). The water bottles make great souvenirs for those who don’t want to splurge.
